It reminds me of *good* Blind Guardian, which is one of my favorite bands (up to 2002) , so that alone would be enough. However, it would sell the band short to describe them just as "a band that sounds like BG". The album has some genuinely brilliant moments and the last song on the album, the s/t one, is one of my favorite songs of the past years, absolutely fantastic. dungeonvic

It's a departure from straight up power metal, though that's still a big part of the sound-but the melodies, emotion and sheer darkness on this conceptual work make it their masterpiece. It isn't paying homage to a certain genre,
but rather a deeply personal record that shows Judicator are unafraid to take risks. A trailblazing album. Recommended strongly. Check out Belly of the Whale. Wolfwatching Music
Alestorm return with another batch of rollicking pirate metal. Swinging, sawing keys, “yo-ho-ho” sing-along choruses, and riffs for days. Bandcamp New & Notable May 29, 2017

Loads of Cliff Burton-era Metallica and Iron Maiden in a 2018 production. Fat layers of excellent vocals not heard since Dio. Form and function match up perfectly. FallenAngel
